Work-Package Summary

The aim of the modelling and simulation workpackage is to support the process of robust design, packaging and assembly of the next generation of micro and nano technology based products. WP2 will establish a collaborative service to industry in the form of a virtual lab. WP2 is working closely with the other technical workpackages to address the main research challenges in DfMM.

The workapackage team includes researchers from 14 European Institutes. The research challenges to be addressed by the partners during the project include;
  • Multi-scale and multi physics modelling
  • Enabling accurate packaging and system simulation
  • Non-linear behaviour prediction
  • Microfluidics modelling
  • Failure and degradation mode modelling
  • Definition of a new cross domain simulation methodology
